Currently Jumpha ASR operates a Jumpha Poultry Breeding and Research Unit (JPB&RU), located at Mitundu, opposite Bunda College, 300 m from Mitundu Secodary School. The Poultry unit has embarked on selective breeding of local chickens, with focus to develop Kawangi phenotype into an improved dual purpose breed for increased egg and meat production, while maintaining low input production system that majority smallholder farmers can afford.
